5th Annual Black & White Party
March 13, 2015 • 6:30-10pm
MassArt Pozen Center, 14 Tetlow St, Boston (map)
Since its beginning in 2011, the Black & White Party has served as Discover Roxbury's annual fundraiser specifically formed to support local artists and advance arts education and programming in Roxbury. Net proceeds from the event directly fund the operations of Roxbury Open Studios, the ArtROX! Hub, and other events in the ArtROX! series.
For five years. guests have experienced a unique evening where the decor, artwork, and food (to the extent possible) are all black and white. The void of color serves to remind us of how important artists are in bringing color to our lives.
Patrons consist of artists, art lovers, emerging fashion designers, and social leaders from across Greater Boston. You never know who you'll meet, especially with masking and masquerade being one of the features of the event. You are encouraged to bring your business cards and creative energy for a night of mixing, mingling, and creative exploration with a diverse crowd where art, dance, and community collide..
A selection of passed apps and a cash bar will delight your palate throughout the evening. Bring a mask or create your own with materials provided by MassArt CACP and sparc! the ArtMobile. Original black and white artwork will be on sale in the Godine Gallery for purchase. DJ Act One will also keep you moving all night with a selection of sweet soulful tunes.
Watch performance art featuring Remon, one of the Fine Arts Superheros. Or, become central to the night by winning the Best Dressed Black and White contest. There will be prizes for the best dressed man and woman.
Don't wait to buy your tickets. The event has sold our for the past three years and it continues to grow. In the event that tickets sell out online, no tickets will be sold at the door.
