Join guests from the arts, cultural, education, medical, historic preservation, and culinary communities in Roxbury and around Greater Boston at the annual Heart of the Hub party fundraiser to celebrate Roxbury's physical and cultural assets, and the people who work tirelessly to strengthen them. Guests have the opportunity to learn more about Roxbury's thriving arts community while networking with peers and enjoying a sampling of food, beverages, and dancing.


Silent Auction
This annual event includes a silent auction featuring gift packages donated by area businesses. Heart of the Hub is supported by Boston area artists who donate items to the silent auction, such as fine art photography, paintings, jewelry, and mixed media work. 


Heart of the HubA Taste of Roxbury
A Taste of Roxbury reception is catered by area restaurants presenting some of the most delicious bites from around the neighborhood. This year's samples will be provided by:

Bundts and Tea
Ethnica
Fort Hill Catering
Fresh Food Generation
Fulani's Kitchen
Haley House Bakery Cafe
Juba Cafe

A cash bar with assorted beverages will also be available, including local beer from Percival Beer Company and soft drinks from Whole Foods.

Before the close of the evening, we honor individuals with the Roxbury Puddingstone Awards for their extraordinary and tireless efforts to highlight and preserve Roxbury's physical and cultural assets. Previous award recipients include State Representative Byron Rushing, E. Barry GaitherKlare Shaw, Bing Broderick, Melvin Miller, Rev. Michael Haynes, Candelaria Silva-Collins, John Wilson, Glynn Lloyd, Clarence
"Jeep" Jones, and Paul Goodnight.


The 2013 Roxbury Puddingstone Awardees are:  
  Melvin H. 'Mel' King, educator, activist, and writer
  Samantha Sadd, educator and activist
  Tuffus Zimbabwe, musician
