Roxbury Heritage Walks

Discover Roxbury on a self-guided walking tour

Visit Roxbury and explore at your own pace using one of our self-guided walking tours. The walks travel through some of the oldest parts of Roxbury, including bustling Dudley Square, the historic residential streets of John Eliot Square and Fort Hill, and the institutions around Roxbury Crossing and the Southwest Corridor Park. The walks, designed by a Roxbury resident, showcase some of the oldest, newest, and most significant religious, social, and architectural sites in Roxbury's 370+ years of history and provide a brief explanations of the significance of each site. Both walks are accessible by MBTA and have parking lots nearby.

Please note that the routes travel up and down hills and that some sites - due to their historic nature - are not wheelchair or handicapped accessable. We advise you to call individual sites before beginning the walk to be sure that the sites of your choice are open when you arrive.
